Better still, Sony's innovative Intelligent Presence Sensor uses an advanced face detection technique to see if the person is watching the TV or not, and it automatically dims the backlight to conserve energy. If the user is away for an extended period, it can even turn the TV off! The sensor can also detect persons viewing position to deliver optimized picture and sound balance based on their angle and distance to the TV.
